PDF Tool Help
Uploading a file
Open the tool for the job, then drag a supported file into the upload area or choose it from your device. If a file is rejected, confirm its extension, size, and that it opens normally in another PDF or Office application.
Selecting and downloading
Use page cards, ranges, or tool controls to choose the result, then use the primary download button. Your original file is not overwritten. If the browser blocks downloads, allow downloads for this site and try again.
Large or corrupted files
Files over a tool’s limit are rejected. A damaged, encrypted, or unusually complex PDF may fail even when it is smaller. Save a fresh copy from a trusted PDF application and retry.
OCR problems
Rotate the scan correctly and use a clear, high-resolution source. Low contrast, handwriting, skewed pages, and mixed languages reduce accuracy. OCR runs in the browser on the first 10 pages of a PDF up to 20 MB; it supports English, Spanish, French, German, and Hindi. See OCR PDF for output details.
Conversion problems
Complex fonts, charts, forms, macros, and layouts may not convert exactly. Open the source in Word or Excel, save a fresh copy, and retry. Always compare the downloaded result with the original.
AI is unavailable
This means no AI provider is configured or the provider could not complete the request. AI features read up to the first 30 pages and 100,000 extracted characters; regular tools and browser-local OCR remain available. See the Frequently Asked Questions for more about AI and file handling.
Password problems
Unlocking requires the exact password. There is no bypass or recovery. Protect and Unlock accept PDFs up to 25 MB; protection passwords must contain 1–256 characters. See Protect PDF or Unlock PDF for the relevant workflow.
Using a phone or tablet
Tap page cards to select them and use Move Up or Move Down for reliable reordering. Keep the tab open until processing and download finish.
